Sweet Poppy stencil creative challenge

Good afternoon, what a beautiful day it is.
Well tomorrow is the 1st of August, it is the start of the first sweet poppy stencils creative challenge.
Lucy is being very generous by offering a £40 voucher to spend in the sweet poppy stencils online store.
The winner will be chose at random so everyone is in with a chance.
The design team have been busy creating inspirational projects for you.

The theme for August is Hot summer colours, how appropriate for today’s beautiful weather here in
London, it reached 38’ in my little garden which is a sun trap.

The challenge runs from the 1st till the 29th August on the simply sweet poppy stencils Facebook page.

Here are the rules for entering.

I have made a card especially for the challenge using the Elephants and the Fall, back plate as I just love them.
Quite a quick card to make, the background was made with distress oxide using the wet wipe technique. I used Distress inks, worn lipstick, squeezed lemonade and spiced marmalade, then used Black Memento ink for the images and ground area. Used a Honey Doo flower stamp on the base of the card.
Here are some extra cards that I’ve made in the past that could also be used for The hot summer Colours theme.

This is my first sample using Indra and Mystic swirl and Dream word from the inspire me set.
The background was made by applying distress oxide with a damp sponge, dabbing one colour then drying before adding second colour. I coloured Indra with mica powders mixed with water. Then stamped mystic swirl around edge, finally added word, once topper was mounted onto card.

For my next sample I used my scan n cut to cut out the egg shape.
I then used the center piece to make my background on.
the background was made using distress oxides. then stamped images in versafine onyx black, stamped the flowers second generation.
 Stamps used for this card:

For this sample I blended distress oxide onto smooth card. stamped Indra and Dream word with black onyx verafine ink, dapped different colour oxide onto the mystic swirl stamp to get a rainbow effect and stamped with water.

I also blended oxide inks onto this background, stamped all images with black versafine. once dry coloured fairy lantern set, with orange sparkle pen. Highlighted Dragon keepers wings with clear  gelli roll pen. stamped summers ebb verse.

For this background i smooched the card into blue distress ink and water, once dry I inked the outer part of the card with mustard seed oxide. stamped Tree of dreams with brown clair ink, then using a scrap piece of paper grounded the tree. Stamped the Wild hares small set  with black versamark ink, stamped Words of spring with brown clair ink, highlighted tree with orange gelli  pen

The back ground for this sample was smooched into distress oxide and water on a craftmat,
grass area was blended onto card with distress ink. dragon keeper and fairy lanterns were stamped in black versafine, then highlighted with an orange gelli pen. Vine flourish was stamped with brown versafine Clair ink.  Verse stamped with mustard seed distress oxide.

For this background I used distress ink. the images were all stamped with black versafine ink.
Using a fan brush I splattered mica powders onto bakground

Distress ink blended onto smooth card. All images for this card were stamped with
black  versafine distress ink,  mask used for sun,

Lavinia stamps July challenge

Lavinia stamps July 2020 Challenge.

Good evening. Hope you are all keeping well. The Lavinia stamps challenge for July begins today, the theme for this month is  My favourite stamp.  What a great theme looking forward to seeing everyone’s favourite stamp creations.
Don’t forget you could be the lucky winner of a £40 gift voucher to spend in the Lavinia stamps shop.

My favourite stamp before the new launch was Sebastian so I’ve used him on my projects.

I made this card at the beginning of lockdown, lost my mojo for a while after this card but getting back into daily routine once again.
I made the background using spectrum noir Harmony inks.
In the background I have used some sweet poppy stencils and Lavinia stamps.
I stamped Sebastian  with versafine Clair nocturne ink then embossed with clear embossing powder. I also used Sebastian’s fin for the edge of the card. Highlighted both with a gold pen. In the background I used the Seaweed2 stamp set., and the Shoal of fish Stamp.
Love the brightness of this card.

For my next  project the background was made using salty ocean, antique linen and tea dye distress ink.
Stamped Sebastian with acorn versafine Clair ink then highlighted with clear glitter pen.
Stamped whimsical whisps in salty ocean distress ink. Seaweed 2 in broken China and mowed lawn distress ink, Sea bubbles in salty ocean Distress ink then highlighted with Silver pearl mica powder.

Looking forward to seeing everyone’s beautiful creations.
Take care have fun crafting.
