Lavinia stamps Hochanda February 2019

Sharing my samples for the  February Hochanda show, the lovely Amanda Branston will be showcasing the design team samples, and giving great demonstrations. Really looking forward to watching the shows live as it’s half term. Please try  to tune in at 12 noon and 4pm if you can. Have a great day.

Here are the links for Set 1
Winifred
Stars
Forest so green
The background for my first sample was made using distress oxide inks blended onto Sheena smooth card. I stamped the words with Manarch versafine Clair ink (second generation). I then stamped Winifred with versafine fine black onyx ink. When dry, I drew around a heart shape lightly with a soft pencil. I used this as a guide to stamp the stars with monarch versafine Clair ink. I then cut the card, and stamped the words on the smaller part, along with more stars. Highlighted with sparkle pen before mating onto black card.
For sample 2 I used orange and green brushos on photo paper, then sprayed with water. Once dried I stamped Winifred with versafine black onyx ink. Mounted onto orange and green card. Stamped Flutterbys with versafine black onyx ink.
Sample 3 for set one, background was sponged with distress oxide and water, once dry used a torn piece of paper as a mask to blend mowed lawn and peeled paint onto the bottom of the card. Then stamped the words, at the bottom of the card, then stamped Winifred both in nocturne versafine Clair ink. I then used a large circle mask and blended tumbled glass and salty ocean oxide inks onto other part of card. Then made a faint pencil line around the circle, followed this line to stamp the stars in monarch versafine Clair ink then embossed with clear embossing powder. Finally stamped flutterby with nocturne Clair ink.

Set 2
Silver lining
Forest scene

Stamped flutterby with monarch Clair ink. Finally stMped snail with antique linen oxide and coloured with pencils.
Sample 2. The background was inked with spectrum noir harmony inks. Honey pot, strew bale, sand storm, inked the trees and lettering  with friar brown versafineClair ink. Spectrum noir Midas gold brushed on base of card. Made a tag for the words.

Background made using distress inks tumbled glass, seedless preserves, mowed lawn and squeezed lemonade. Snail stamped with antique linen oxide then cored with pencils. Trees, words and birds stamped with monarch Clair ink.

Set 3
Lunar buds
Faith
Mini leaf

Background, sponged wilted violet, tumbled glass and worn lipstick all over card. Stamped faith in centre of card with nocturne Clair ink. Cut out masks for lunar buds so I could stamp them closer together also stamped with nocturne Clair ink along with the flutterby, stamped the mini leaf with monarch Clair ink.

Sample 2 blended background with wilted violet, evergreen bough and salty ocean distress ink, splashed with a little water. Stamped images with nocturne Clair ink. Coloured the lunar buds with wilted violet and squeezed lemonade oxide. Highlighted with clear gel pen and sparkle pens.

Sample 3. Background blended with tea dye and scattered straw inks, leaves and buds stamped with monarch Clair ink. Faith and flutterby stamped with nocturne Clair ink. Inked through a stencil with old paper distress ink. Coloured wings and lunar buds with pink sparkle pen.

Set 4
 Sebastian
Ocean words

Sample 1. Background is photo paper smooched onto salty ocean and shabby shutters oxide ink sprayed with water. Stamped Sebastian with nocturne Clair ink. Then stamped words and seaweed with paradise Clair ink. Highlighted with white pen.

Sample 2. Background blended using wilted violet, seedless preserves, salty ocean and chipped sapphire oxides. Inked through stencil with wilted violet. Main Sebastian stamped in centre then second generation stamped into background. Also stamped Lavinia small seahorse, fairy orbs and large green man beard in background. Coloured Sebastian with bronze Midas spectrum noir ink. Finished with sparkle pen and glass beads.

Sample 3. Another photo paper background smooched in oxcide and water. Stamped Sebastian with bluebelle Clair ink. He went a little bit wrong, not all the ink transferred to the card, so he looks a little skeletal, decided to finish the card. Stamped seaweed with nocturne and bluebelle Clair ink, used Sebastian’s spines around edge of card. Highlighted edge of Sebastian with blue alcohol pen then highlighted with white pen.
Hope you enjoyed the shows. Amanda did quite a few fabulous demos. Enjoy your new stamps. Always willing to help with any questions.

Lavinia stamps February challenge

Good evening all.
It’s the first of the month so time for a new Lavinia challenge. The theme for February is: a place to escape too. Looking out my window I don’t think I’ll get very far with the snow that’s falling at the moment.
For full details please visit: https://laviniastamps.com/lavinia-stamps-monthly-creative-challenge. You could be the lucky winner of a £40 voucher picked at random, to spend in the Lavinia shop.
Good luck everyone.

For my first sample I used Spectrum noir Harmony inks.
Grasshopper, plum jam, winter rose, pale fig, and honey pot.
Blended inks onto Sheena card, then inked through the  inkylicious cloud stencil and highlighted with a white pen.
I cut a random shape from photo copier paper for the hills and inked th grass area first. I Then used a white ink pad though a small circle
For the sun, then highlighted sunbeams with a sparkle pen.

For the hills I used hickory smoke distress ink.
For this sample I inked up the sun first, then blended in the blue colours.
Next I masked off the grass area and blended the green ink onto the card. Moved masking tape down to the top of the grass area then using a paper mask that I cut from copier paper I inked the mountain area. To finish off added som glitter and white pen highlights.

Lavinia stamps used for this sample.
Have fun making your creations. Looking forward to seeing where your fairies will escape too.
Congratulations to Karin Åslund's who’s entry “You Are Braver Than You Think” was selected by our Python Random Generator to win the £40 voucher in this month’s Creative Challenge.
