The Products that I used, were…

Echo                                  woodland hares.

Stardust pen

Hickory smoke distress ink and oxide.

Step 1.

Using a 15 by 21 cm piece of multifarious card, gently blend hickory Smoke distress ink onto the card, using a blending tool.

Step 2.

Using hickory smoke oxide and makeup brush, gently rub over stencil with a makeup brush.

Step 3

Cut card down to 15cm square. Then using White orbs stencil gently rub over stencil randomly, making some areas darker than others, with a makeup brush. 

Step 4

Take a piece of torn paper, a make up brush and hickory smoke oxide, brush down towards the base to give you a ground area.

Step 5

Place stamps onto your background, to see where you think they should go. Place onto a stamping platform, then stamp with jet black archival ink.

 Step 6

Leaving card and stamps on platform, re-ink with versafine black onyx ink, then emboss with clear embossing powder. (removed stamps for picture.)

Step 7

Stamp tree branch with versafine ink, then emboss with clear embossing powder, use a fine paintbrush to brush embossing powder from owl.

Step 8

Using an acrylic block, stamp tree branch with versafine ink, using first and second generation stamping at top of card.  

Step 9

Place a 6cm circle mask, over the center of the of the card then brush around edge with hickory smoke distress ink, to give the effect of a moon. Highlight tree branches, owl, rabbit and field grass with a stardust pen.

Step 10

Place stamps over the images, using thinned down white acrylic paint and a fan brush gently flick white paint onto card, remove stamps and put a little paint onto owl and rabbit. Then sprinkle the new fairy-tales Eco-glitter onto card while paint is still wet. Mount onto black and white mats then mount onto 8” card.

For this project I thought I would use bandit, as he is lifting his leg like he could be tiptoeing through the snow.

Lavinia stamps January mid month reminder.

 Hi everyone. 

We are half way through January, but there is still time to enter the challenge. 

The theme is: a winters night.

Time to share another project with you. 

Here are the products used for this card. 

Shanty

White orb stencil

Start by cutting a 6” square using smooth white stamping card. 

Ink background with faded jeans distress ink. Then using stencil randomly highlight circles in background. 

Stamp shanty building with Acorn Clair ink then heat emboss with clear embossing powder. Then do the same with the fir cone. Highlight and embellish both with a white pen. 

Stamp snowflakes with versamark ink then using a soft small brush gently rub with mica powder to give a shimmer. Then using a circle mask and stencil do the same to make a half moon. 

Next mask off the bottom part of the card with a paper mask and using a sponge and acrylic white paint ground the shanty with a snow effect. When dry stamp mushrooms with grey Clair ink then highlight with mica powder

My first sample for January includes a step by step tutorial,

This is my second step by step tutorial for Lavinia stamps.

Thought I would do another one to welcome 2021.

The team at Lavinia have put together lots of

 videos and step by step tutorials for you to enjoy.

 

I’m using Magnus as my main stamp for this card

He is gorgeous.

The Lavinia Products that I used, were…

Step 1.

Using a 17 cm square piece of multifarious card, gently blend blueprint sketch, faded jeans and chipped sapphire distress ink into the card leaving center of the card quite light with colour. 

Step 2.

Mask off bottom of card with low tack masking tape. (You can do this before inking, I’m going to be using acrylic paint as snow effect so masked of after inking.) 

Step 3

Using Blue Belle, Rainforest and Monarch versaFine Clair ink. Ink up fir tree stamps using alternating colours stamp across card varying heights a little bit. 

Step 4

 Blend Dusty Concorde distress ink at top of card. Dry ink with a heat gun or let dry naturally, before next step. 

Step 5

Once ink is dry, stamp red pine trees with versamark ink and gold embossing powder. I stamped one large red pine tree and two small trees in the foreground. 

 Step 6

I sprinkled a little gold embossing powder at top of card to give a bit of shimmer, then Highlighted all the trees with Gold pen. 

Step 7

Pour some acrylic paint onto your mat, spray with a little water and mix. Using a round makeup pad, gently dab base of card with the sponge, covering whole area to look like snow. You can get some nice texture in the paint.  

Step 8

Stamp Brodwin with Onyx black ink in top left-hand corner of card.

Step 9

Cut a piece of heatproof acetate 20 cm by 17 cm, place on top of your card, place Magnus on top of acetate to see where you want to stamp him on the acetate. The acetate will fold around the card and bellow out a little bit. Stamp Magnus with Jet black Archival ink, or onyx black Versafine ink, then heat emboss black embossing powder on top of this.

Step 10

Then with a fan brush, add a little more water to the acrylic paint gently tap brush to get a sprinkling of white paint to give a snow effect, do this on the card and the acetate. Highlight Magnus with a white pen. 

Step 11

Make a 1cm fold at each end of the acetate. Place double sided tape on the back of the card, stick down one side, then stick down other side of the acetate to the card, this will leave a bow effect in the acetate. Then mount card onto black and white layers before finally mounting onto 8” card.

Hello everyone.

Wow! What a fabulous weekend it’s been. Still a few more 

demos to come and a few more prizes to be won. 

The Lavinia extravaganza is a fabulous idea and I hope 

You are all enjoying the videos and step by step tutorials

 that the team have put together. Congratulations to all the winners 

so far.

This is my first step by step tutorial for Lavinia stamps.

The foxes come knocking. 

I’m using the Druids Inn tree, as this is one of my favourite’s

and I thought it would make a lovely home for the new foxes.

 

The Products that I used, were…

The Tutorial for creating

The Foxes come Knocking.

Step 1. 

Using a 17 cm square piece of multifarious card, gently blend squeezed lemonade oxide ink onto the top 2 thirds of the card, using a makeup brush.

 

Step 2.

Stamp Druids inn with Acorn versaFine Clair ink, then heat emboss with clear embossing powder.

 

Step 3

Using Tea dye distress oxide blend under Druids inn to make a den, then use shabby shutters distress oxide, either side of den to create a grass area.

Step 4

Stamp Climbing ivy with rain forest versaFine Clair, using 1^st and 2^nd generation stamping either side of the den.

 

 

Step 5

Using the Ivy stencil, place stencil over den area and gently blend over using Tea dye oxide ink, with a makeup brush.

 

Step 6

Make sure that all ink is dry for the next step. Stamp foxes using a stamping platform, versamark ink and antistatic pad, sprinkle over crackling campfire distress glaze, then heat from underneath.

Step 7

Gently brush over flourish stencil with dried marigold oxide ink, on both sides of Druids inn.

 

Step 8

Place a 10cm circle mask, over the center of the druids inn then brush around edge with dried marigold oxide ink to make a sun.

 

Step 9

Stamp vine flourish with acorn versaFine Clair ink using 1^st and 2^nd generation stamping.

 

Step 10

Blend gathered twigs oxide ink around edge of card, add a little extra under base of foxes at base of card, to ground them.Mix a some mica gold powder with a little water and paint the druids inn bark with this, highlight leaves foxes and sun with clear sukura stardust pen. Use a grey pencil as a shadow for the foxes.

Step 11

Stamp small fairy with black onyx versaFine ink, and emboss with clear embossing powder. Using rain forest VersaFine Clair ink stamp field grass using 2^nd generation stamping, either side of the climbing ivy. Mount onto 8” square card to finish.

Lavinia stamps September challenge.

Good morning, beautiful summer sunshine through the widows this morning. 

1st September today, So that means it’s the start of another Lavinia stamps creative challenge. 

As always Tracey is being very generous by offering a £40 voucher to spend in the Lavinia online store. 

The winner will be chosen at random so everyone is in with a chance.  

The design team have been busy creating lots of inspirational projects to inspire you. 

The theme for August is Dark and bright.

For my fist sample I have used: 

The large owl

Maple leaf

I blended squeezed lemonade all over the card. Then using a paper circle As a stencil I used mustard seed to highlight the moon. Then used torn paper for the ground area.  Stamped the tree root And owl with acorn Clair ink. Stamped the Leaves with rainforest Clair ink (first and second generation.) 

Stamped bats and mushrooms with black Clair ink. Highlighted card with a clear Sakura pen to add highlights. 

I used the following stamps for sample 2. 

Fish set

Arlo

Sea tangle

Marine kelp

Mini fish

Coral stencil

Enjoyed making this card with the new stamps. 

The background started as a marbled card made using shaving foam. 

Then stamped the marine kelp  and sea Tangle with Clair inks, then using a brush and mermaid lagoon Distress ink brushed though stencils randomly. Stamped small fish (second generation) so they look more in the background. Stamped the main fish with Clair inks then embossed them. Highlighted fish with glitter pens, used white pen for bubbles.

I’m off to go get ready to go back to work tomorrow, lots of changes at school to learn about, looking forward to seeing the children that are returning after a long break.

Had a very busy weekend, as we started to decorate the Hallway, hopefully will have it finished by Wednesday!  

Had a heavy downpour of rain this evening, so the air is feeling nice and cool.

The background was done with distress oxide inks, on a craft mat and sprayed with water, drying each time with a heat gun. Words inked with spiced marmalade oxide, for the remaining inking I used versafine black onyx. Highlighted with a gold gel pen.
