Lavinia Hochanda August 3rd 2018 at 10am

Lavinia stamps are back on Hochanda today,  with a great choice of stamps, and some fabulous demonstrations with the lovely Amanda. I hope you can watch the show, I will have to watch on catch up, as I’m on holiday and it will only be 4am in Memphis when the show is on air. I enjoyed making these samples to share with you.

My first two cards were made with distress oxide backgrounds. Using worn lipstick, peacock feathers, shaded lilac and seedless preserves.

On the first card I used versamark and gold sparkle embossing powder, I stamped and embossed  the spiral of spells first then stamped the shrub and embossed one at a time.

For the second card, I also used a crackle effect stencil with seedless preserves, before stamping the branch on the background with versamark then embossing with pink and lilac melt dust that I found hidden away in the back of a cupboard. I then stamped the spiral of spells onto a circle background with versamark and silver embossing powder. Mat and layered onto burgundy and silver card, flicked some dark pink sparkle pen onto background, then placed imagine die cut next to circle

The next two sets of stamps on the show always remind me of Autumn. The Colours chosen were picked as they also remind me of Autumn. My next two cards were also made using distress oxides. Fossilised amber, peeled paint, spiced marmalade, fired brick and vintage photo. The autumn fall fairy was stamped with versafine Clair black ink. The ivy was stamped with =distress oxides.

The next two cards were also made using distress oxide backgrounds. Fired brick, fossilised Amber, peeled paint, spiced marmalade, rusty hinge and mowed lawn distress ink. Acorn house and squirrel stamped with acorn versafine Claire. Used torn paper template for ground area using mowed lawn distress ink. Used Lavinia tree stencil in background. Other Lavinia stamps were stamped with distress oxides.

For my final card I masked off a rectangular area of the card. I used iced spruce and dried marigold distress ink for the background. Then stamped tree in Acorn versafine Claire ink. Once dry I coloured the tree with a brown sparkle pen. Stamped Kayla and caterpillar with versafine Claire black ink. I then stamped the small leaves with different green  coloured oxide inks. Flicked some brown sparkle pen to give some splats then highlighted edge in gold pen.

Lavinia stamps July challenge

While you were sleeping.
Good morning all.
July has arrived, the months just seem to be flying by, but I’m looking forward to the summer.
It’s time once again for the new Lavinia stamps challenge, the theme this month is... While you were sleeping.
For full details visit the creative challenge blog. https://laviniastamps.com/lavinia-stamps-monthly-creative-challenge
You could be the lucky winner picked at random to win a £40 voucher to spend in the Lavinia shop.
For my first card I used the following Lavinia Stamps.

Stamped all the images for this card with Clair versafine nocturnal ink.
Coloured the stone effect background with frayed burlap and pumice stone distress, used as a wash.
I also used shabby shutters distress ink as a wash for the grassy area, the steps were coloured with black soot distress ink also used as a wash. Tea dye distress ink was used on the door, for the reverse of the door I hand drew some lines and a handle with a thin black pen then also coloured with tea dye distress ink.
For the sky on the background behind the door, I used Broken China distress ink. The flowers were cored with pink sparkle pens.
I cut out part of the door so that it would open, then placed a background behind! I also cut a second door frame and decoupaged this!
For the highlights I used a white pen, a glitter pen and on the vine I also used a green glitter pen.

For my next sample, I used the following Lavinia stamps.

I used shaded lilac distress ink all over the card then went round edges with seedless preserves.

Then stamped words with seedless preserves oxide ink. Stamped lmage in centre with versafine Claire nocturne ink. Stamped sars with versafine then heat embossed with silver sparkle embossing powder. Then mat and layered onto black and silver glitter card.
